JACQUELYN POTTS has been directing Dancensations Dance Center's Summer Camps for the last seven years. She recently completed her Masters of Fine Arts Degree in the Department of Modern Dance at the University of Utah where she was on scholarship, taught undergraduate dance courses, and performed regularly with Performing Dance Company. She now dances professionally with Rire-Woodbury Nikolais Dance Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born and raised in northern Virginia, Jacquelyn began dancing at a young age and continues to follow this passion. She has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, gymnastics, and drill team and has enjoyed teaching these styles to children and adults. She has been teaching dance for several years and continues to find inspiration from young dancers. Jacquelyn attended the College of William and Mary where she received a Bachelor of Science double major in Kinesiology and Interdisciplinary Studies in Dance Performance. She was a performer and choreographer in two dance companies while at William and Mary. Jacquelyn has been commissioned to choreograph dances for several high school dance teams, and has won numerous choreography awards for her work. |
